If you wanted to eat then you could feast At the banquet where I dine And if you wanted to feat then I would bring My choicest wines Now if you wanted to rest, then take my best Linens for your bed And if you wanted to sleep then baby please Lay down your head (And the Lord whispered...) She's the one, she's the one Beloved, she's the one Now if you wanted to bathe, I'd cause a wave To come and make you clean And if you wanted to swim, be baptized in My lakes and streams If you wanted to die, and lost your life Then I would raise you back And if you wanted to leave, then I'd concede to that (And the Lord whispered...) She's the one, she's the one Beloved, she's the one And when the wise man says to go home and my friends have left me all alone and my own family have all disowned me I'll go 'Cause I've got too much to lose and too much to say Not to take you and love you the best anyway She's the one...

Though this life is ordinary Some day you will see It's anything but ordinary When you are with me And though it may not be like Anything you've ever seen I will fill your blurry eyes With visions from your dreams With all imagination And creation at our door We'll do our best to never do What has been done before I hear her voice in the next room Oh when she sings for me! I quite like all her melodies And sing them in my sleep If we move, we move together And if we breathe, we breathe as one

If you want to, if you want to, if you want to drink wine If you want to, if you want to, if you want you can drink mine From the fountain From the mountain If you want to drink wine with me If you want to, if you want to If you want to eat, dine with me If you want to, if you want to If you want to recline with me If you want to, if you want to If you want to drink wine with me If you want to, if you want to From the fountain From the mountain I'll be the one makin' eyes at you From across the room, from across the room You'll be the one smilin' back at me Showin' me your teeth, showin' me your teeth Come to me in the cool night Come to my vineyards and drink of my wine Run to me in summer time I'm my beloved's and he is mine Come to me in the cool night Run with all speed and your arms open wide Find me among the grape vines Lay in the grass and consume my desire Take me at just the right time Come to my bedroom, oh lover of mine Wait for the bloom in spring time Don't awaken love 'til the time is right Don't awaken love until the time is right! From the fountain From the mountain

Smiles are always looking for a mate And never like to be alone And touch is a great compliment to our words And always looking for a home Love is the only way to go And living's the only way to know And touch is a holy way to show And risk is the only way to grow Love is the risk that I'm dying to take The promise I'm living to keep And risk is the love I'm not willing to fake And sacrifice our unity Love is the only way to go And living's the only way to know And touch is a holy way to show And risk is the only way to grow Oh death, we taunt you, now where is your sting? Oh death, it haunts you, where's your victory? Oh death, we taunt you, now where is your sting? Oh death, it haunts you, where's your victory? How can we heal if we won't even touch And how will we feel if we don't ever love? How long has it been since you have touched Someone to show them how much they are loved?

The champagne drips down your leg In that green dress that I don't ever want to see again On the escalator you waived Did you drive straight back to his place? Straight from the train station to his arms like you just couldn't wait? Did you tell him we were engaged? Did he have the right words to say? Did you slip your ring off before you took all your clothes off for him? Or did you just throw it away? And maybe some day he'll pay And I'll get the chance to take back all the love that you gave away But revenge always digs two graves

Ghosting 05:03
Busted seams tie your goodly deeds To your crucial need to be redeemed From stones and sticks, I have got the stitch That will make you rich in a crucifix So If I gave you my blood, honey would you take it? And if we made love, honey please don't fake it. And if desire fell asleep, honey would you wake it? A burning tongue and a confession Is the rising sun on the way to love The weakening night or triumphant light Says I am yours, and you, you are mine So If I gave you my blood, honey would you take it? And if we made love, honey please don't fake it. And if desire fell asleep, honey would you wake it? And we wait for the dawn, will you stay awake? We will be naked again, but we'll feel no shame When everything will be revealed, but we'll have no pain And all creation will sing our song's refrain

about

Quick Said the Bird Columbus, Indiana

At one of our very first shows, a friend dubbed us "an atmospheric folk pop orchestra" and we liked that. We prefer stomping floors to kick drums, hand-shakers to high-hats, and Casio-keyboards-through-tape-players to electric guitars. We try and create little backyard micro-epics. We hope we don't buff out too many of the imperfections. ... more
